The successful candidate will hold a degree in Architecture and will have strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, with an ability to think quickly to resolve problems in real time and will also have a holistic understanding of the project delivery process.This role sits within the Global Architecture & Urbanism Division which combines the expertise of IBIs Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places capabilities, and CRTKLs multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.
Role Responsibilities:
As an ArchitecturalDesigner in the transit studio, your role accountabilities will include:
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team (engineering, urban design and others) to support the design and construction of rapid transit projects in Canada and the United StatesAssist in the construction administration phase:
general review, site instructions, code analysis, change orders and interpretation of contract specificationsAssist with creating and developing functional layouts, diagrams and presentation material of stations and ancillary buildings according to a complex programming for station building requirements including public and service areasLearn new software (Microstation) and be thorough on CAD graphic standardsAssist the Senior Architecturaldesigner on other tasks including updating logs and checklistsQualificationsQualifications and Experience:
Minimum Degree in ArchitectureRegistered Architect or Intern with AIBC or equivalentExperience with design coordination and leading small teams in delivering design packages under supervision of the project architectMinimum 5 years of experience in an architectural firm (strong co-op experience also considered)ALL CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO WITH THEIR CV/RESUME.
