Position SummaryMagellanAerospace, Kitchener has a great opportunity for a SeniorAccountant.
The successful incumbent will oversee & ensure proper internal controls of the finance administrative activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and General Accounting.
Support the Finance Manager with various reporting requirements & the administration of the fiscal period processes.Essential Responsibilities Support the cash reporting:
weekly function Supervise the month end close process in accordance with corporate timelines.
Lead general accounting function, including reconciliations of general ledger accounts, A/R, A/P, recurring journal entries.
Ensure the accuracy of all department processes to the various accounts.
Perform daily review of all revenue streams, costing transactions for accuracy and investigation of discrepancies and unusual transactions.
Manage & reconcile intercompany transactions.
Identify, review and implement process improvement initiatives Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports Support the external audit process and corporate enquiries.Monthly HST and WSIB reporting Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Position Requirements University/college degree in business or related field.
5 to 10 years work experience in similar position, preferably in manufacturing Professional Accounting designation or pursuing.
Proficient with Cincom, CODA or similar ERP systems Strong working knowledge of MS Office products Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, management regulations & compliance Training, inspecting work and coaching skills Knowledge of spreadsheet & accounting procedures Effective interpersonal skillsWhy Magellan?
