37.5 per week Monday – Friday An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who has a special interest in cancer care to join our established Upper GI surgical and Oncology teams, working with gastric and oesophageal cancers, supporting these patients through there oncology and surgical pathway and being the key worker.
You will also have the opportunity to enhance your skills whilst reviewing patients post op and providing unique post-surgical follow up and building on your advanced clinical practice. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised, compassionate, reliable and flexible who can prioritise their workload and demonstrate excellence in cancer care The UGI Surgical /Oncology CNS will also work across specialties to assist with clinical decision making and communication support What we need from you Provides clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across service boundaries Promotes the philosophy of person centre care by supporting the patient, their next of kin and family/carers delivering excellent evidence based individualised and personalised care through holistic needs assessment, care planning and evaluation of care and all care interventions Act as a ‘key worker’ for a clinical caseload, working to coordinate care and provide easy access for ongoing support for patients ·Assesses people’s information needs and support needs by providing understandable information and signposting, to determine their own treatment pathway ·Makes sure that people affected by cancer are aware that they are interacting with know the full range of resources and services available within and beyond HCA, including appropriate cancer charities Post graduate qualification within speciality required Experience as a CNS with clinical expertise within the speciality Preferably have surgical experience or experience with complex care/ critical care A desire to work towards advanced clinical practice and work autonomously Keen to develop own education and training Why HCA UK?
