Summary of the role

The main task of the SalesManager is to generate sustainable, predictable revenue growth using Nordson EFD’s product portfolio to serve specific customer needs and create new opportunities based on Nordson’s extensive application knowledge in the area.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed territory plans and review them quarterly with the Sales Director;
Lead a small team to maximize sales in the region;
Assess customer needs, suggest appropriate products and services, and respond to complex customer application inquiries;
Prepare system application offers and quotes, maintain data, and track them properly in C4C CRM following company standards;
Engage in solution-based selling, from developing customer needs to project follow-up and delivery;
Negotiate prices and delivery times within authority limits and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets;
Maintain customer relationships throughout project lifecycles to ensure timely delivery, on budget, and meeting specifications;
Identify, research, and contact prospective customers to build positive relationships that generate future sales and repeat business;
Actively promote Nordson EFD’s brand, product portfolio, and application solutions within the area to grow the customer base and revenue in collaboration with the Marketing Department;
Report sales leads, customer feedback, and competitor activity to relevant organizational contacts;
Establish order entry forecasts, prioritize activities, and schedule to meet targets;
Follow Nordson EFD’s Sales Process, providing detailed inputs for bi-weekly order forecasts and monthly project pipeline reports;
Participate in trade shows, support marketing activities, and organize local customer events and presentations;
Use demo products for local trials and demonstrations, presenting independently at a level required by the company;
Coordinate with accounts receivable to ensure credit terms are met.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Proper educational background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Automotive, Material Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience in Sales or Marketing;
Minimum of 3 years recent field sales experience in B2B capital equipment sales, with a proven track record of managing a large customer portfolio and growing accounts, preferably in industries like watchmaking, precision mechanics, automation, or medical devices;
Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills;
Fluent in French, German, and English, both written and spoken;
Strong analytical skills and technical query handling;
Strategic thinking with the ability to set and execute long-term actions;
Ability to prioritize, work independently, and focus on results;
Experience in setting up and performing tests with products and customers in a laboratory environment;
Flexible in work actions and time management;
Ability to work effectively across organizational levels;
Confidence in presenting products and discussing applications to gain customer trust;
Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, Business Explorer, Work Day, BW, and C4C;
Team-oriented approach, including coverage for colleagues across Switzerland during holidays;
Based in the area.
