We are looking for a LeadSoftwareEngineer for our RED Storageengineering team who will design, build, and deliver components of RED softwarestorage solution:
Design and implement critical distributed storage components including SQL database engines interfacing with complex distributed highly available storage infrastructure.
Drive design discussions, build prototypes and contribute to deliver high quality products.
Develop, optimize, and maintain code implementing SQL engine and surrounding stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application functionality and performance.
Conduct code reviews and improve scalability, reliability and performance of RED storage and AI solutions.
Collaborate with your teammates and integrate a group of passionate developers in an outcome-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
Excellent hands-on software development experience of 10 years on distributed storage solutions or SQL server development Experience in developing and debugging at system level C/C++, particularly for Linux/UNIX computing environments.
Prior experience with architecture and implementation of database engines interfacing with complex highly resilient underlying distributed storage Comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, query languages and stored procedures Knowledge of distributed file system solutions, parallel file system solutions or network file system is important.
NVM storage technology and/or distributed key-value storage systems are highly desired.
BS/MS/Ph.D in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent degree/experience.
Attention to detail and commitment to high quality deliverables.
Strong team player with good communication skills and should be self-starter.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize, multitask, and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of and experience in several of the following subjects:
Common database technologies and utilization of complex query languages for efficient data retrieval Exposure and deep understanding of non-relational database technologies as well as preferable Hadoop, HDFS, or equivalent technologies.
Knowledge of SQL Server tools and utilities for monitoring, maintenance, and administration of relational databases (prior experience with Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Parallel file system solutions (ex.
Lustre, GPFS) or distributed file systems (ex.
NFS) Proficiency in coding in UNIX shell and SQL, and at least one procedural language such as Python, Ruby, Java, Perl, and C++ Experience with AI technologies interfacing with event streaming infrastructures (ex.
